Above is John Garang roaming in the Southern capital Rumbek for his
first visit since he has signed the peace with the Sudan government
that has ended the war between the North and South of the Sudan.
John Garang held his first conference in Khartoum as the first
vice president of the Sudan on 20/07/2005. After three week as
first vice President of the Sudan, and President of the government of
the Southern Sudan, John Garang tragically dies in helicopter crash on July 30/
2005 after taking off from Uganda for the Newsite Southern Sudan.
John Garang was only 60 years old when he dies and led SPLA/SPLM as its
rebel chaiman for 22 years in the bush. Born in 1945-2005.
